The conversion of a ten bedroom family house into a recreational centre for a large Chinese family in Manila. Built in the 1970’s the house was extremely dark, and slightly dilapidated. The family wished to largely retain the layout as they believed it to have brought the family luck over two generations. The design also had to be closely monitored and approved by a feng shui expert.
The new design consists of a large downstairs banquet space with a dirty kitchen outside, a majong room, a shrine room to respect the former owners of the house, fully equipped theatre, conference room, gym, play room, two lounges and billiard hall/bar.
